According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, as of September 30, the price of isooctanol was 6,666.67 RMB/ton, a 7.62% decrease from the price of 7,216.67 RMB/ton on September 1. In September, isooctanol plant installations remained stable at a high level, with the utilization rate of isooctanol equipment remaining stable at 96%. New isooctanol production capacity was added, increasing supply. However, downstream plasticizer plant operations saw a slight decline, providing limited support for isooctanol demand. With increased supply and limited demand, the price of isooctanol fluctuated downward.

Downstream plasticizer DOP prices fluctuated and fell

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, as of September 30, the price of DOP was 7,367.50 RMB/ton, a 2.92% decrease from the price of 7,589.17 RMB/ton on September 1. DOP prices fluctuated downward in September as DOP companies consolidated their production loads, with a slight decrease in operating rates. This weakened demand for isooctanol, leading to a fluctuating decline in isooctanol prices.

Market outlook

Analysts of SunSirs believe that on the supply side, isooctanol manufacturers were operating at high capacity, and coupled with new isooctanol production capacity, the supply was sufficient. On the demand side, DOP prices had fluctuated downward, and DOP manufacturers' operating rates had slightly decreased, weakening demand support for isooctanol. In the future market, the supply of isooctanol will increase and the demand support will weaken. It is expected that the price of isooctanol will consolidate weakly in the future market.
