SunSirs: China SBR Market Has Slightly Declined

Recently (9.17-9.23), the market situation of SBR has slightly declined. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of September 23, the price of SBR in the East China market was 12,108 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.16% from 12,250 RMB/ton on September 17. The prices of raw materials butadiene and styrene have slightly decreased, and the cost of SBR has slightly decreased. The downstream tire production is basically stable, providing strong support for the demand for SBR; The production of SBR has been basically stable, and as of September 23, the mainstream market price of 1502 SBR in Fushun, Jihua, Yangzi, and Qilu in East China is around 12,000-12,200 RMB/ton.

Recently (9.17-9.23), the prices of raw materials butadiene and styrene have slightly decreased, and the cost support for SBR has weakened. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of September 23, the price of butadiene was 9,240 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.29% from 9,266 RMB/ton on September 17; As of September 23, the price of styrene was 7,178 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.13% from 7,334 RMB/ton on September 17.

Recently (9.17-9.23), the production of domestic SBR plants has been basically stable, around 69%.

Supply and demand side: Recently (9.17-9.23), downstream tire production has slightly increased, providing essential support for the SBR market. As of September 18th, the construction of semi steel tires by domestic tire companies has slightly increased to around 75%; The production of all steel tires by tire companies in Shandong Province has slightly decreased to around 65%.

From a fundamental perspective, analysts from SunSirs believe that the current supply and demand of SBR are relatively stable. If raw material prices rise again after the Federal Reserve cuts interest rates, it is expected to drive the SBR market upward.
