SunSirs: Soda Ash Market in Some Regions of China on September 17

On September 17, the benchmark price of light soda ash from SunSirs was 1,188.00 RMB/ton, down 1.82% from the beginning of this month (1,210.00 RMB/ton).

On September 17, soda ash prices in North China were around 1,170-1,270 RMB/ton for light soda ash, a decrease of 10 RMB/ton compared to September 11. Heavy soda ash prices were around 1,300-1,350 RMB/ton, a decrease of 50 RMB/ton compared to September 1. Supply-side production capacity decreased slightly, total market inventory decreased slightly, downstream consumption was average, and a small amount of low-priced demand followed suit, resulting in a subdued market trading atmosphere. In the short term, the soda ash market in North China is expected to be wait-and-see.

On September 17th, the mainstream soda ash market price in Central China was around 1,120-1,300 RMB/ton for light soda ash, a 20 RMB/ton increase from September 11th. The mainstream soda ash market price for heavy soda ash was around 1,200-1,400 RMB/ton, a 50 RMB/ton decrease from August 28th. Supply-side production capacity decreased slightly, total market inventory decreased slightly, downstream consumption was average, and a small amount of low-priced demand followed suit, resulting in a subdued market trading atmosphere. In the short term, the soda ash market in Central China is expected to operate smoothly.

On September 17, the mainstream soda ash market price in East China was around 1,100-1,400 RMB/ton for light soda ash, a decrease of 10 RMB/ton compared to September 1. The mainstream soda ash market price was around 1,200-1,300 RMB/ton, a decrease of 30 RMB/ton compared to September 2. Supply-side production capacity decreased slightly, total market inventory decreased slightly, downstream consumption was average, and a small amount of low-priced demand followed suit, resulting in a subdued market trading atmosphere. In the short term, the soda ash market in East China is expected to operate smoothly.
