In July this year, Brazil exported 450,000 bags of coffee to the United States. After the U.S. tariff policy took effect at the beginning of August, this export volume dropped to about 250,000 bags.
On September 1st local time, the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association announced data showing that due to the 50% tariff imposed by the US government on Brazilian products, Brazil's coffee exports to the United States in August this year decreased by 55.24% compared to the same period last year.
According to data, in July of this year, Brazil exported 450,000 bags of coffee to the United States. After the U.S. tariff policy took effect at the beginning of August, this export volume dropped to about 250,000 bags.
The association notes that coffee consumption demand in the US market has not weakened and that the "tariff shock" will ultimately damage the interests of US consumers after the effect of inflation.
