September 01 2025 08:53:21     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the SunSirs commodity market analysis system, bromine prices have generally risen this month. The average market price at the beginning of the month was 28,000 RMB/ton, and by the weekend it was 29,400 RMB/ton, a 5% increase and a 42.03% year-on-year increase.

On August 27th, the SunSirs Bromine Index was 103.16 points, unchanged from the previous day. This represents a 57.92% decrease from the intra-cyclical high of 245.18 points (October 27, 2021), and a 75.08% increase from the intra-cyclical low of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The period refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to the present.)

Analysis review

Bromine prices were generally on the rise this month, with spot prices in Shandong Province temporarily ranging from 28,000 to 30,000 RMB/ton ex-factory. Due to environmental inspections and the impact of rainy season, bromine inventory pressure was minimal, quotations remained firm, and downstream demand was moderate, resulting in relatively light market transactions.

Regarding raw materials, domestic sulfur prices remained firm, averaging 2,481 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 2,637.67 RMB/ton at the end of the month, a 6.31% increase and an 83.81% year-on-year increase. Downstream demand remained acceptable.

Market outlook

Bromine prices have been rising recently, while upstream sulfur prices have remained firm. Bromine supply pressure was minimal, with downstream suppliers primarily purchasing on demand. Bromine prices remained relatively firm. It is generally expected that bromine may continue to maintain a strong trend in the later period, depending on the downstream market demand.
