Ethylene glycol prices saw a slight increase on August 28, but remained relatively high for the month. According to data from SunSirs, the average price of domestic oil-based ethylene glycol was 4,498.33 RMB/ton as of August 28, up 1.50% from the average price of 4,435 RMB/ton on August 1.
Analysis review
In terms of port ethylene glycol, the price basis of the port ethylene glycol spot contract on August 28, 2025 first rose and then fell. The spot contract basis range this week was +58 to +69 RMB/ton. As of the close, next week's contract basis range was +68 to +71 RMB/ton, the contract basis range in late September was +70 to +74 RMB/ton, and the contract basis range in late October was +64 to +67 RMB/ton.
Domestic coal-based polyester-grade ethylene glycol spot prices (bulk, tax included, self-pickup) are priced at 4,050-4,100 RMB/ton per truckload.
Foreign ethylene glycol, recent negotiated cargoes had been sold at around $531-534/ton.
