The rise in international crude oil futures on August 21 led to a positive trading atmosphere in the benzene market, with refineries and traders offering firm prices. Market outlook
Crude oil futures: On August 21, international crude oil futures continued their upward trend. The October contract for U.S. WTI crude oil futures settled at $63.52 per barrel, up $0.81, or 1.3%. The October contract for Brent crude oil futures settled at $67.67 per barrel, up $0.83, or 1.2%.
On August 21, the price of benzene on the FOB Korea market increased by $4 to $736/ton, while the price on the CFR China market increased by $3 to $751/ton. The price on the FOB Rotterdam market increased by $2 to $671/ton, while the price on the FOB US Gulf market increased by $5 to 265 cents/gallon.
