SunSirs: Global Crude Steel Production in the First Seven Months Reached 1.0862 Billion Tons

The World Steel Association announced that global crude steel production in July 2025 will be 150.1 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.3%. From January to July 2025, global crude steel production will be 1,086.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.9%.
Last week, total imported iron ore inventories at 47 Chinese ports reached 144.442 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 626,300 tons. Total imported iron ore inventories at 45 ports reached 138.452 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 259,300 tons.
Last week, China's supply of the five major steel varieties (rebar, hot-rolled coil&sheet, wire rod, cold-rolled coil&sheet , and mild steel plate) was 8.7806 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 64,300 tons. Total inventories of the five major steel varieties reached 14.4104 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 250,700 tons. Weekly apparent consumption of the five major varieties was 8.5299 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 2.6%.

On August 25, the benchmark price of rebar on SunSirs was 3,242.00 RMB/ton, down 3.08% from 3,345.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
On August 25, the benchmark price for hot-rolled coil on SunSirs was 3,406.67 RMB/ton, down 2.94% from 3,510 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
On August 25, the benchmark price for wire rod on SunSirs was 3,382.50 RMB/ton, down 4.38% from 3,537.50 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
On August 25, the benchmark price for cold-rolled sheet on SunSirs was 4,040 RMB/ton, up 1.76% from 3,970 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
On August 25, the benchmark price for mild steel plate on SunSirs was 3,392 RMB/ton, down 0.88% from 3,422 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.
