On August 21, the commodity price index BPI was 870 points, unchanged from yesterday, a decrease of 35.22% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and an increase of 31.82% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on August 21, 2025, there were a total of 38 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (12 in total) and the non-ferrous sector (8 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were guanidine carbonate (2.78%), sodium metabisulfite (1.67%), and Brent crude oil (1.60%). There were a total of 40 products that experienced a month on month decline, mainly in the chemical industry (17 in total) and agricultural and sideline industries (7 in total). The top 3 products with a decline were glass (-2.45%), propionic acid (-2.25%), and isopropyl acetate (-1.55%).
