According to the SunSirs’ commodity market analysis system, the price of color coated steel sheets stabilized last week. The market price of color coated steel sheets was 6,733 RMB/ton on August 11 and 6,733 RMB/ton on August 15, which was stable compared to last week’s previous week and up 8.59% compared to the same period last year.
Analysis review
Galvanized Sheet: Galvanized sheet prices rose slightly last week before declining. On Friday (August 15th), the price was 4,318 RMB/ton, down 0.0161% from the previous week and 0.847% from the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coating and plating market remained tepid, resulting in weak market transactions..
Market outlook
Last week, the capacity utilization rate of 314 sampled independent coal washeries was 36.5%, a 0.29 percentage point increase from the previous month. Daily clean coal production was 264,000 tons, a 4,000-ton increase from the previous month. Clean coal inventories were 2.97 million tons, an 89,000-ton increase from the previous month.
Considering the arrival of the off-season, despite rising costs, most factories were still shipping, and their quotations remained high. Last week, most domestic plants were operating normally, production and sales were not yet balanced, and inventory was slightly accumulated. It is expected that the price of color coated steel will remain basically stable in the short term.
