August 12 2025 09:12:06     SunSirs (John)Price trend
According to SunSirs’data, seamless tube prices fluctuated within a narrow range last week. By the weekend, the price of 20#, 108*4.5 seamless tube was 4,090 RMB/ton, unchanged from the beginning of the week and down 6.41% year-on-year.
Analysis review
The market price of tube billets rose slightly last week. The ex-factory price of 20# hot rolled tube billets was 3,350-3,430 RMB/ton.
Last week, nationwide seamless tube mill inventories reached 679,800 tons, an increase of 12,000 tons from the previous week. As of August 8th, strong costs were driving seamless tube prices upward, but hot and rainy weather was impacting downstream demand, and the follow-up will depend on the extent of production restrictions. Market sentiment was temporarily weak, with traders reluctant to replenish inventories. The off-season further weakened downstream demand, and on-demand purchases by end-users did not see significant growth.
Market outlook
In the short term, cost support and low demand are in conflict with each other. It is expected that the price of seamless tubes will remain stable with slight adjustments in the short term.
