Analysis review

According to the SunSirs’ Commodity Market Analysis System, the overall n-butanol market in Shandong Province showed a narrow downward trend in early August. n-butanol factories and suppliers slightly lowered their shipping prices, shifting the focus of n-butanol market negotiations slightly downward. As of August 5, the reference price for n-butanol in Shandong Province was around 5,900-6,000 RMB/ton, a decrease of 50-100 RMB/ton.

Market Influencing Factors

Supply: As of August 5th, n-butanol production was operating at a relatively stable rate, with ample spot supply on the market. However, downstream demand was generally weak, and supply-demand transmission was relatively slow, resulting in an overall sluggish supply.

On the demand side, downstream demand for n-butanol was temporarily cautious, with users primarily seeking to restock at low prices. Negotiations were subdued, with a strong wait-and-see attitude. Overall, the demand side was providing limited support for n-butanol.

Future outlook:

As of August 5th, the inquiries in the n-butanol market were on the low end and the trading volume was average, and the effective support in the market was relatively weak. The n-butanol data analyst of SunSirs believes that in the short term, the domestic n-butanol market will mainly be consolidated to be weaker, and more attention should be paid to the changes in the news on the supply and demand sides.
