SunSirs: Domestic Refined Petroleum Coke Prices on an Uptrend Recently

According to the SunSirs Commodity Analysis System, domestic refined petroleum coke prices have continued to rise. As of August 3rd, the price of domestic refined petroleum coke in the Shandong market was 2,415.00 RMB/ton, up 3.09% from 2,342.50 RMB/ton on July 28th.

The recent overall rise in crude oil prices is primarily due to the new trade agreement between the United States and the European Union, the possibility of new US sanctions against Russia, and the continued easing of concerns about US tariffs.

Recent domestic refined petroleum coke prices have been generally stable, with refinery shipments remaining healthy. However, some refineries' petroleum coke prices have fluctuated significantly with market indicators, resulting in mixed fluctuations. Downstream demand has been relatively stable, with the August base purchase price of prebaked anodes down 10 RMB/ton from July. This indicates moderate purchasing enthusiasm for petroleum coke, leading to an overall increase in petroleum coke prices. Recent port petroleum coke transactions have been average, with stable shipments and ample port inventories. Downstream companies are maintaining their purchases based on demand.

Recent calcined coke prices have seen a slight increase. Regarding costs, petroleum coke prices have generally increased, with some manufacturers adjusting their prices.

Market forecast: Currently, the petroleum coke market is trading well, and downstream purchases of just-in-time needs still support the petroleum coke market, but purchases are relatively cautious. It is expected that petroleum coke may be mainly consolidated in the near future.
