Aluminum prices fluctuated downward last week
Aluminum prices fluctuated sideways last week. According to the SunSirs’ commodity market analysis system, as of July 31, 2025, the average price of aluminum ingots in East China was 20,596.67 RMB/ton, down 0.96% from the average price of 20,796.67 RMB/ton on July 25.
Fundamentals Overview
Macro: The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady at its meeting, in line with market expectations. This marked the fifth consecutive time this year that the Fed has held interest rates steady.
According to social inventory data, aluminum ingot inventories were starting to pick up, with a slight increase in recent inventory. On July 31, the inventory of electrolytic aluminum ingots in major domestic consumption areas was 544,000 tons, an increase of 11,000 tons from Monday and 34,000 tons from last Thursday.
