Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of July 25, 2025, the reference price of n-butanol in Shandong Province, China was 5,883 RMB/ton. Compared with July 1 (reference price of n-butanol was 6,466 RMB/ton), the price had decreased by 583 RMB/ton, a decrease of 9.02%.

Analysis review

From the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, it can be seen that since July, the overall market situation of n-butanol in Shandong Province, China has shown a weak downward trend. During the month, the focus of the n-butanol market in Shandong has been continuously adjusted downwards, with n-butanol factories and suppliers lowering their shipment prices. On site negotiations have gradually shifted towards the lower end, with a cumulative reduction of around 500-600 RMB/ton during the month. As of July 25th, the reference price for n-butanol in the domestic Shandong region was around 5,850-5,950 RMB/ton.

Market influencing factors

On the supply side, the new production capacity of n-butanol is expected to be put into operation, and the increase in supply has brought suppression to the market, putting overall pressure on the supply side. The supply source was sufficient, and factories were actively offering discounts to maintain low inventory levels. However, the supply side provided insufficient market support.

On the demand side: During the month, downstream production of n-butanol declined slightly, and the overall transmission of downstream demand for n-butanol was slow. The market continued to decline, and demand performance was cautious. Inquiries were mostly buying at low prices, and the support from the demand side was not satisfactory before.

Future outlook:

As of July 25th, the trading atmosphere of n-butanol in the market was weak, and the mentality of industry players was average. There was a strong wait-and-see sentiment in the market. The n-butanol data analyst from SunSirs predicts that in the short term, the n-butanol market in Shandong, China will mainly consolidate in a range, and specific changes in supply and demand information need to be closely monitored.
