SunSirs: China Coking Coal Market has Rebounded slightly This Week (July 14-17)

This week, the price trend of most coking coal markets has risen, and the market has rebounded to some extent. Linfen Anze low sulfur main coking coal increased by 40 RMB/ton to 1,300 RMB/ton. Some coal types have experienced significant price increases, with online auction prices continuing to rise, with an increase of approximately 80-130 RMB/ton. According to the monitoring system of SunSirs, as of July 17th, the price index of SunSirs's coking coal was 1,268.75 RMB/ton, an increase of 4.32% from the beginning of the month.

On the supply side, the phenomenon of coal mines in Shanxi and Inner Mongolia shutting down and reducing production still exists. Overall, the resumption of coal mine production is relatively slow, and the tight supply of coking coal has not been significantly alleviated. Some factories have very little inventory, and it is expected that the bullish sentiment in the coking coal market will still exist in the near future, but the increase will not be too large.

In terms of demand, the downstream coke market sentiment is also relatively positive and optimistic, with prices rising in the first round by about 50-55 RMB/ton. The terminal procurement of coking coal from production areas has also increased, and the trading atmosphere is good. Overall, downstream support for coking coal is still acceptable. It is expected that the coking coal market will operate steadily with a moderate to strong trend in the near future.

According to analysts from Shengyishe Coking Coal, the current tight supply situation in the coking coal market has not been alleviated to a limited extent. Downstream market sentiment is good, and demand has increased, so it is necessary to increase inventory appropriately. It is expected that there will still be bullish sentiment in the coking coal market in the near future, but the increase will not be too significant. More attention still needs to be paid to the supply and demand situation and the transaction of building materials.
