SunSirs: The Domestic Acetone Market Overall Declined (June 23-27)

June 30 2025 11:11:15     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

The overall domestic acetone market was declining. The acetone market in East China has been trading at an average price of 5,300 RMB/ton since June 23, but has fallen to 5,200 RMB/ton on June 27, with the overall market hovering at a low level.

Analysis review

The decline in raw materials has weakened cost support. The sharp drop in crude oil on Tuesday led to a wide decline in benzene, and the accumulation of benzene at ports at the beginning of the week and the downward trend in styrene prices in major downstream markets were bearish on the market, resulting in a weakened market.

On the demand side, downstream demand for bisphenol A for acetone remained stable with a slight increase, but demand for MIBK and isopropanol remained stable. On the other hand, the demand for solvent chemicals to avoid high temperatures in summer had declined, resulting in a lukewarm overall market performance.

The acetone offers in major mainstream markets across the country on June 27th were as follows:

Market outlook

From the perspective of SunSirs, the supply side was concerned about the production status of Zhenhai Refining and Chemical Plant, and the port inventory was around 25,000 tons; On the cost side, attention should be paid to the upstream benzene situation, and it is expected that the acetone market in East China will negotiate around 5,150-5,250 RMB/ton.
