SunSirs: The Price of Bromine Rose Overall in June

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the overall price of bromine has increased this month. The average market price at the beginning of the month was 24,800 RMB/ton, and the average market price over the weekend was 25,100 RMB/ton, with a price increase of 1.21%, which is 9.61% higher than the same period last year.

On June 26, the SunSirs’ Bromine Index was 88.07 points, unchanged from the precious day, a decrease of 64.08% from the highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27) during the cycle, and an increase of 49.47% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to present)

Analysis review

This month, the overall price of bromine has been on the rise. As of June 27th, the reference price for bromine spot production in Shandong was 25,000-26,500 RMB/ton. This month, due to the impact of environmental inspections, the pressure on bromine inventory in enterprises was not significant, and prices are firm. Downstream demand was average, and overall market transactions were relatively light.

In terms of raw materials, domestic sulfur prices have been running weakly, with an average market price of 2,454.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 2,334.33 RMB/ton at the end of the month, a decrease of 4.89% and an increase of 93.45% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand was still acceptable.

Market outlook

The price of bromine has been rising recently, and the upstream sulfur price has been weak recently. The supply of bromine and bromine remained stable, and downstream purchases were mostly made according to demand. Bromine prices remained relatively stable. It is expected that bromine will continue to consolidate in the later period, depending on downstream market demand.
