On May 21, the commodity price index BPI was 863 points, unchanged from yesterday, a decrease of 35.74% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and an increase of 30.76% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on May 21, 2025, there were a total of 40 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (16 in total) and textile sector (6 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were epichlorohydrin (3.23%), MTBE (2.14%), and caustic soda (1.88%). There were a total of 64 products that experienced a month on month decline, mainly in the chemical industry (28 in total) and steel (9 in total). The top three products with the highest decline were trichloromethane (-4.84%), butadiene (-3.26%), and PP (fiber) (-1.68%).
