On May 19th, the commodity price index BPI was 863 points, a decrease of 2 points from yesterday, a decrease of 35.74% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and an increase of 30.76% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on May 19, 2025, there were a total of 43 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (22 in total) and the energy sector (5 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were acrylonitrile (2.39%), adipic acid (2.30%), and borax (2.30%). A total of 82 products experienced a month on month decline, mainly in the chemical industry (43 in total) and steel (11 in total). The top three products with the highest decline were acetic anhydride (-3.99%), MTBE (-3.67%), and pure benzene (-2.72%).
