On May 7th, the commodity price index BPI was 857 points, a decrease of 2 points from yesterday, a decrease of 36.19% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and an increase of 29.85% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on May 7, 2025, there were a total of 43 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (11 in total) and the non-ferrous sector (8 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were WTI crude oil (3.43%), Brent crude oil (3.19%), and butadiene (2.03%). There were a total of 69 products that experienced a month on month decline, mainly in the chemical industry (42 products) and non-ferrous metals (7 products). The top three products with the highest decline were acetone (-3.48%), divalent acid ester MDBE (-3.05%), and heavy soda ash (-2.66%).
