In February 2025, the price of ethylene glycol first rose and then fell. According to data from SunSirs, as of February 26th, the average price of domestic oil to ethylene glycol was 4,681.67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.64% from the average price of 4,711.67 RMB/ton on February 1st.
In terms of futures, on February 25, 2025, the main contract of Shanghai Aluminum closed at 20,655 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.60%.
International crude oil prices fell in the evening session, and market sentiment was weak. On the morning of February 26, 2024, the spot contract price of ethylene glycol at the port fell weakly, and traders actively purchased at low levels, resulting in a strengthening basis. In the morning session, the contract basis quotation for this week was+27 RMB/ton to+30 RMB/ton, and in the afternoon, the quotation rose to+32 RMB/ton to+35 RMB/ton; After the market closed, the basis price of the contract next week was +38 RMB/ton to+42 RMB/ton. The basis price of the contract in March wsd +56 RMB/ton to +60 RMB/ton, and the basis price of the contract in April was +76 RMB/ton to+78 RMB/ton.
In terms of external ethylene glycol, as of February 25th, the landed price of ethylene glycol in China was 545 US dollars/ton, and the landed price of ethylene glycol in Southeast Asia was 557 US dollars/ton.
