On January 8th, the commodity price index BPI was 877 points, unchanged from yesterday, a decrease of 34.70% from the highest point of 1,343 points during the cycle (2021-10-19), and an increase of 32.88% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016.
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on January 8, 2025, there were a total of 30 commodities that showed a year-on-year increase in commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (12 in total) and the energy sector (7 in total). The top three commodities with the highest increase were trichloromethane (3.45%), MTBE (2.83%), and natural rubber (2.26%). There are a total of 32 products that have experienced a month on month decline, concentrated in the chemical industry (14 in total) and steel (7 in total). Products with a decline of more than 5% are mainly concentrated in the chemical industry sector; The top three products with a decline were sulfuric acid (-8.47%), epichlorohydrin (-1.07%), and rapeseed oil (-1.04%).
