On May 7th, the commodity price index (BPI) was 949 points, an increase of 1 point from yesterday, a decrease of 29.34% from the highest point in the cycle of 1,343 points (2021-10-19), and an increase of 43.79% from the lowest point of 660 points on February 3rd, 2016. (Note: The cycle refers to 2011-12-01 present)
According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, on May 7, 2024, there were a total of 73 commodities with a month on month increase in the list of commodity prices, mainly concentrated in the chemical sector (29 in total) and the non-ferrous metal sector (13 in total). Commodities with an increase of more than 5% were mainly concentrated in the chemical sector; The top three commodities with the highest increase were polyethylene glycol (6.80%), aluminum oxide (3.33%), and sodium acetate (3.28%). There were a total of 42 commodities that experienced a month on month decline, mainly in chemical industry (14 in total) and textile industry (7 in total). The top three commodities with the largest decline were Forsythia suspensa (-4.35%), sulfuric acid (-3.67%), and yellow phosphorus (-3.53%), respectively.
