SunSirs: The Isobutanol Market Declined in April

Price trend

The isobutanol market declined in April. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of April 28th, the average price of isobutanol of enterprises was 7,937.50 RMB/ton, a decrease of 3.20% compared to April 1st (the reference price of isobutanol was 8,200 RMB/ton).

From the monitoring chart of SunSirs data, it can be seen that in early April, the price of isobutanol operated weakly, with a roughly stable trend in mid April. Towards the end of the month, the price slightly rebounded.

Supply and demand side:

In the first half of the year, there was an increase in market supply, and downstream inquiries and procurement intentions were not high. Small orders were mainly followed up on demand, and the market atmosphere was light. Holders offered to sell at a discounted rate. In the middle of the month, the company's production started steadily, and downstream buying continued with small orders, resulting in a relatively stable supply and demand side. In late of the month, downstream demand showed average performance, with a focus on stocking up according to demand. The supply in the Shandong market slightly decreased, and the market was in a strong wait-and-see atmosphere.

Cost side:

Isobutyraldehyde: According to the monitoring chart of SunSirs data, the "V" trend of raw material isobutyraldehyde in April dragged down the isobutanol market in the first ten days, and gradually increased support for the isobutanol market in the second half of the month.

Propylene: In April, the price of raw material propylene fluctuated narrowly. On April 25th, the reference price of propylene was 6,856.60 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.12% compared to April 1st (6,848.60 RMB/ton), which limited support for the isobutanol market.

Related product n-butanol:

In April, the domestic market for n-butanol in Shandong Province fluctuated and operated. On April 26th, the reference price for n-butanol (industrial grade) was 7,866.67 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.05% compared to April 1st (7,950.00 RMB/ton). In the late of the month, there was a slight increase in the price of isobutanol, with a slight boost.

Market outlook
