SunSirs: Raw Materials Price is Rising, Driving Up Prices of DME (4.15-4.19)

Last week (4.15-4.19), the domestic DME market was operating steadily. According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the average price of DME in the Henan market on April 15th was 3,600 RMB/ton, and on April 19th it was 3,675 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.08% during the cycle and a decrease of 9.82% compared to the same period last year.
Last week, overall domestic DME rose, while Henan DME followed suit. Due to the continuous increase in raw material methanol during the week, driven by high costs, the mentality of the industry has slightly improved. Under cost pressure, DME enterprises have pushed up prices. Downstream demand remains cold and scarce, with primary focus on essential needs.
According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of methanol has increased significantly this week, with a price increase of 2,645 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 2,379 RMB/ton at the end of the week, and an increase of 3.55% during the week.
Overall, the increase in DME is smaller than the increase in raw material methanol. Although the price has increased, the profit margin has further narrowed. Considering the limited increase in downstream demand, it is expected that DME will continue to have limited upward space in the short term and maintain stable operation.
