According to the Commodity Analysis System of SunSirs, the domestic furfuryl alcohol (national standard, industrial grade, 250KG/barrel) market fluctuated and declined in March. As of March 31st, the average quoted price of furfuryl alcohol was 10,525.00 RMB/ton (including tax), a decrease of 0.71% from 10,600.00 RMB/ton on March 1st.
Analysis review
Cost side: The raw material for furfuryl alcohol was furfural, which was obtained by cracking and dehydrating polypentose contained in agricultural by-products. Furfural was hydrogenated and reduced to furyl alcohol under catalyst conditions. In March, the domestic furfural (national standard, industrial grade, 250KG/barrel) market fluctuated and declined. As of March 31st, the average quoted price of furfural was 10,125.00 RMB/ton (including tax), a decrease of 0.74% from 10,200.00 RMB/ton on March 1st.
On the demand side: Furfuryl alcohol is mainly used for the production of furfural resin, furan resin, furfuryl alcohol urea resin, phenolic resin, etc; It is also used to prepare fruit acids, plasticizers, solvents, and rocket fuels; It is also widely used in industrial sectors such as dyes, synthetic fibers, rubber, pesticides, and casting.
