SunSirs: The Lithium Hydroxide Market Was Stable with Minor Fluctuations, Mainly Being Wait-and-see (February 18-23)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of February 23, the average price of industrial grade lithium hydroxide in China was 96,600.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.62% compared to February 18.

Analysis review

After the holiday, the lithium hydroxide market haD remained stable with minor fluctuations, with a focus on wait-and-see. Recently, industrial grade lithium carbonate in the upstream had slightly decreased, and the price of spodumene concentrate in the upstream had slightly declined. The cost support wa limited, and the industry was operating at a low level. Downstream demand was weak, and inquiries and purchases were mainly following up on demand. Enterprise shipments were average, and there was a strong wait-and-see atmosphere.

Upstream lithium carbonate: According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of industrial grade lithium carbonate had slightly decreased after the Spring Festival holiday. On February 22, 2024, the domestic mixed average price of industrial grade lithium carbonate was 91,000 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.44% compared to the average price of 91,400 RMB/ton on February 18, providing moderate support for the lithium hydroxide market.

Market outlook

According to Lithium Hydroxide analysts from SunSirs, as of February 23, the market was mainly wait-and-see. With the resumption of work and production by demand side enterprises, the market supply and demand pattern may improve. In the short term, the lithium hydroxide market may still remain stable, and more attention needs to be paid to changes in the demand side.
