In terms of titanium concentrate, the market price of titanium concentrate in the Panxi region increased significantly in January. With the decrease in raw ore supply and the shutdown of large factories, titanium ore spot prices were tight, enterprise inventories were low, downstream inquiries were increasing, and market prices had increased significantly. As of January 29th, the tax-free quotation for 38-42 grade titanium ore was around 1,550-1,580 RMB/ton, the tax-free quotation for 46 grade 10 titanium concentrate was around 2,260-2,280 RMB/ton, and the quotation for 47 grade 20 titanium concentrate was around 2,350-2,480 RMB/ton.
Analysis review
According to customs data, in December 2023, China imported 364,000 tons of titanium ore, an increase of 25.96% year-on-year and a decrease of 1.74% month on month, with a monthly average price of 309.98 US dollars per ton; In 2023, China imported approximately 4.2719 million tons of titanium ore, a year-on-year increase of 23.03%, and the import volume increased by approximately 799,800 tons.
In December 2023, China exported 2,237.57 tons of titanium ore, an increase of 52.39% year-on-year and 57.12% month on month; In 2023, China's total export of titanium ore reached approximately 24,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 10.95%, and the export volume increased by approximately 2411.64 tons.
Market outlook
In the short term, the market price of titanium concentrate is mainly strong, and the actual transaction price is negotiable.
