SunSirs: Supported by Supply and Demand, the N-Butanol Market Was Operating with an Upward Trend

According to monitoring data from SunSirs, as of January 9, 2023, the reference price of n-butanol in Shandong Province, China was 8,833 RMB/ton. Compared with January 7 (reference price of n-butanol was 8,716 RMB/ton), the price increased by 117 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.34%.

Analysis review

From the monitoring chart of SunSirs data, it can be seen that as entering this week (1.5-1.9), the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong region experienced an upward trend. In some regions, the maintenance of n-butanol units had led to a partial reduction in the supply side of n-butanol. The supply side had provided support for the n-butanol market, and coupled with downstream demand for n-butanol stocking, the downstream overall stocking and replenishment enthusiasm was good. With supply and demand support, the n-butanol market had ushered in an upward trend, and factories had actively increased the shipment price of n-butanol, with an increase of 100-200 RMB/ton. As of January 9th, the domestic market price of n-butanol in Shandong region was around 8,800-8,900 RMB/ton. The domestic market price of n-butanol in East China was around 9,100-9,200 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

As of January 9th, the trading atmosphere in the domestic n-butanol market had been mild, and the mentality of the industry had been positive. According to the n-butanol data analyst from SunSirs, in the short term, the domestic n-butanol market will mostly operate steadily with a stronger bias, and the specific trend still needs to pay more attention to changes in supply and demand news.
