SunSirs: White cardboard Rises and White Board Maintains Stability in China, or Short Term or Volatile Upward

October 13 2023 10:06:51     SunSirs (Selena)

According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of white cardboard has shown an increase this week, while the price of white cardboard has remained stable. On October 12th, the average market price of 230g-400g white cardboard was 4,973.33 RMB/ton, an increase of 1.36% compared to the average market price of 4,906.67 RMB/ton on October 1st. On October 12th, the average market price of 250g gray base white board paper was 4,332.33 RMB/ton, which remained stable compared to the average market price of 4,332.33 RMB/ton on October 1st.

By observing market changes, it can be seen that the price of white cardboard has shown an upward trend after the holiday. Encouraged by the rebound in demand, the paper industry has received numerous price increase letters, which has gradually implemented the price increase of white cardboard. Driven by the rise of paper mills, downstream stocking intentions have increased, leading to an increase in demand for white cardboard. In addition, the continuous increase in upstream wood pulp prices has led to an increase in production costs, leading to a rise in the price of white cardboard.

The price of gray based white board paper is running smoothly, and the supply of white board paper in the market is stable. There are currently no plans to release new production capacity or shut down for maintenance. During the peak consumer season, the shipment of paper mills has improved, and the enthusiasm of paper mills to start operations has slightly increased, so the overall supply pressure in the market is not significant. Under the active promotion of growth by paper mills, the intention to replenish downstream inventory has increased. However, due to the recovery of the domestic economy, there is still insufficient market demand, resulting in limited demand growth. Most businesses are still cautious.

SunSirs paper analysts believe that the current supply-demand contradiction in the white cardboard and whiteboard markets has been further alleviated, and the mentality of paper mills to promote growth remains unchanged. However, due to the slow recovery of demand, downstream businesses tend to be cautious in purchasing, and it is expected that the prices of white cardboard and gray base white board may fluctuate and rise in the short term.
