SunSirs: Demand Was Weak, and Prices of CPL Fell (August 14-18)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the average market price of liquid CPL in China was 13,100 RMB/ton on August 14th, and 12,975 RMB/ton on August 18th. CPL prices fell by 0.95% this week.
Analysis review
The market price of CPL fell this week. The price of raw material pure benzene was lowered, resulting in poor cost support. The downstream PA6 chip market had weakened, and the enthusiasm for raw material procurement decreased. CPL was operating under pressure, and the spot market had declined. As of August 18th, Sinopec's high-end liquid premium CPL self delivered settlement price was 13,400 RMB/ton.
The price of raw material pure benzene had slightly decreased this week. On August 14th, the price of pure benzene was 7,817 RMB/ton. On Friday (August 18th), the price of pure benzene was 7,769 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.39% compared to last week and an increase of 2.33% compared to the same period last year. This week, the price of Sinopec pure benzene was 7,750 RMB/ton (the prices in Shandong and Hebei regions were synchronized).
This week, downstream PA6 domestic market prices fell. In terms of demand, it was average, and stocking tended towards low-priced sources. As of August 18th, the average factory price of PA6 in China was 14,050 RMB/ton.
Market outlook
SunSirs’ CPL analysts believe that the CPL market was operating weakly recently. The market for raw material pure benzene was weakening, with insufficient cost support. The performance of terminal demand was poor, and the transaction focus of CPL was downward. It is expected that the price of CPL will be mainly weaker in the short term.
