August 01 2023 09:28:34     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

In July, the dichloromethane market rose first and then fell, and it rose slightly at the end of the month compared with the beginning of the month. According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, as of July 29, the price of bulk dichloromethane in Shandong was 2,425 RMB/ton, up 3.63% from 2,340 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month, and down 6.46% from the monthly high of 2,592 RMB/ton. The price of methanol as raw material fluctuated higher, and the cost of dichloromethane became stronger; The operating rate of the methane chloride device was low first and then high, and the supply pressure continued; The downstream refrigerant R32 mainly purchased dichloromethane in small orders as required, with limited demand support; The dichloromethane market rose first and then fell.

Analysis review

In July, the methane chloride unit slightly decreased in the early stage of operation, and slightly increased after some units were restarted in the later stage. After the production of Jiuhong's new device in the later stage, supply pressure is expected to increase again.

In July, the price of raw methanol rose in shock, and the cost of dichloromethane strengthened. According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, as of July 29th, the spot price of methanol was 2,281 RMB/ton, an increase of 4.66% from 2,180 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month; The low point of the cycle was 2,137 RMB/ton, and the high point was 2,314 RMB/ton.

The downstream received orders on demand, and the overall commencement was stable. The downstream refrigerant R32 market was slightly higher, and the commencement was stable. The demand for dichloromethane was mainly supported by a small amount of rigid demand, which was slightly weaker than that at the beginning of the month. The inventory of dichloromethane manufacturers was slightly accumulated.

Market outlook

Analysts of methane chloride data from SunSirs believe that the pressure on the supply side of dichloromethane is expected to increase, and the demand side support is limited, so the supply side of dichloromethane is weak, but the cost side may continue to rise. On the whole, it is expected that the dichloromethane market will be narrowly consolidated in the short term.
