SunSirs: Abundant Supply of Goods, China PC Market Falls Back

According to the bulk list data of SunSirs, the domestic PC market has recently declined, and spot prices of various brands have overall decreased. As of July 24th, the reference quotation for the PC sample enterprises of SunSirs is around 15,266.67 RMB/ton, with a +2.35% increase or decrease compared to the beginning of the month.

In terms of raw materials: From the above figure, it can be seen that the market for bisphenol A has been declining recently. The current price of raw material phenol/acetone maintains cost support for bisphenol A. Due to the digestion of market inventory through early bidding, spot prices have risen. At present, the transaction situation has slowed down, and the market for bisphenol A has turned down.

In terms of supply: Last week, the overall operating rate of domestic PC increased to nearly 80%, and the industry load exceeded a three-year high to reach 78%. Due to the recent delivery of preliminary orders by the polymerization plant, inventory pressure is still acceptable. However, as a result, the on-site supply of goods is relatively abundant, and the factory price of enterprises has fallen, providing poor support for spot prices.

In terms of demand: Recently, downstream PC buyers have just needed to maintain production, and the business owners have a heavy wait-and-see mentality. In terms of auction, prices have turned around and fallen, with transaction prices generally falling by around 100 RMB/ton. At present, the starting position of terminal enterprises is maintained, and the actual stock situation is in the off-season market. Some prices have been inverted on the market, and the main trading force is biased towards midstream traders.

The PC market fell last week. The upstream bisphenol A market also fell, providing lower support for PC costs. The load of domestic polymerization plants has risen to a three-year high, and the market has abundant spot supply. Traders have a poor mentality and tend to lower prices while placing orders. Downstream enterprises have insufficient follow-up on consumption, and it is expected that the PC market may continue to be weak in the short term.
