SunSirs: Cost Side Prices Fell, and Carbon Black Prices Were Running Weakly (June 12-16)

June 20 2023 14:52:35     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to data monitored by SunSirs, the domestic carbon black market was operating steadily in the past week. On June 19th, the domestic carbon black N220 was quoted at 9,033 RMB/ton.

Analysis review

Cost: In terms of raw materials, the price of coal tar in the mainstream area of Shanxi fell. This week, the auction price of Coal tar in Shandong was significantly reduced to 3,800 RMB/ton, 570 RMB/ton lower than the auction price in the previous period, which weakened the support for the cost end of carbon black.

Supply and demand side: Most carbon black enterprises maintained normal operating levels, and there was little change in industry operating at the end of the month.

In terms of demand: In terms of downstream tire companies and other rubber product industries, the overall operating rate remained stable, and finished product inventory was at a reasonable level. With the support of early inventory, the enthusiasm of enterprises to purchase goods was average. The downstream deep processing and receiving capacity had significantly weakened, and the market was mostly in a wait-and-see state. The bearish atmosphere was gradually deepening, and the transaction volume in the carbon black market was weaker. As of 16th, purchasing was mainly based on demand, and there was o obvious positive news in the market.

Market outlook

On the whole, the cost side support of raw material coal tar was weakened, and the demand side had not improved significantly. It is comprehensively predicted that carbon black will run weakly in the short term.
