May 08 2023 10:45:27     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, at the beginning of the week, the average ex factory tax price of Shanxi's light potassium carbonate was 8,620.00 RMB/ton. On the weekend, the average ex factory tax price of Shanxi's light potassium carbonate was 8,520.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.16%. The price decreased by 4.70% month-on-month, and the price decreased by 9.52% compared to the previous year.

Analysis review

Potassium carbonate prices fell this week. From the data of SunSirs, it can be seen that the potassium carbonate market mainly fell recently, and the market continued to decline slightly this week. Domestic potassium manufacturers had sufficient supply, and the market price of potassium chloride continued to decline. The transaction volume in the potassium carbonate market was flat, the shipment volume was poor, and the potassium carbonate market declined. According to statistics from SunSirs, the mainstream factory quotation range for industrial grade potassium carbonate in China this week was around 8,300-8,500 RMB/ton (for reference only), and the quotation varied depending on the procurement situation.

Recently, the mainstream domestic potassium chloride manufacturer's potassium chloride prices fluctuated and fell: on May 6th, Anhui Badou Chemical Co., Ltd.'s potassium chloride distribution price was around 3,300 RMB/ton, and the quotation was temporarily stable. The actual transaction price was mainly negotiated. During the May Day holiday, the potassium fertilizer market did not have strong transactions. After the holiday, market bearishness was dominant, demand was sluggish, and the supply of potassium fertilizer was sufficient, resulting in oversupply.

Market outlook

Recently, the domestic potassium fertilizer market has entered a low season with high inventory, and downstream purchases remain in demand. It is expected that the price of potassium carbonate will mainly decline in the short term, while the long-term market still needs to wait and see.
