According to monitoring data from SunSirs, the domestic PC market was mainly stable with slight changes this week, and spot prices of various brands generally stopped falling. As of April 7th, the reference quotation for the PC sample enterprises of SunSirs was around 15,833.33 RMB/ton, with a decrease of 0.21% compared to the beginning of the month.

Analysis review

In terms of raw materials: From the above figure, it can be seen that the recent cost support for bisphenol A was strong. International crude oil had continued to strengthen, and upstream raw materials such as pure benzene and phenol rose. Cost side support for Bisphenol A strengthened. Holders had a positive attitude, quotations were raised and market negotiation atmosphere improved.

In terms of supply: The overall operating rate of domestic PC this week was over 73%, which had increased compared to the previous period. Recently, the PC industry continued to operate at high loads, supply was abundant and there was insufficient support for spot goods overall.

In terms of demand: Recently, downstream PC buyers purchased just needed to maintain production, and the business owners had a heavy wait-and-see mentality. The operating rate of terminal enterprises was not high, and the actual stocking operation had not improved, with light on-site trading. Traders' mentality had weakened, and their offers were generally in line with the market.

Market outlook

This week, the PC market stopped falling and stabilized, while the upstream bisphenol A market rose at a low level, providing better support for PC costs. The load of domestic polymerization plants had increased in a narrow range, and there was no improvement in demand side follow-up, while supply side pressure was high. It is expected that it will take some time for the PC market to overcome the supply-demand contradiction in the near future, and it may continue to fluctuate and consolidate in a narrow range.
