SunSirs: Peruvian >ining Exports Down 19.8% Year-on-year in January
March 16 2023 10:59:59Foreign media, March 15th: The Peruvian Chamber of Mines said on Tuesday that due to the protests in recent months, Peru's exports of mining products fell by 19.8% in January from a year earlier. Peruvian mineral exports totaled $2.473 billion in January, compared with $3.1 billion a year earlier, the Peruvian National Society of Mines Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE) said. Peru's copper export sales in January were $1.248 billion, down 25% year-on-year. Compared with the same period in 2022, copper export sales fell by 20.3%, and copper prices fell by 5.9%, the association said. Last week Peru's mining minister, Oscar Villa, said local copper mines had resumed shipping copper concentrate to ports for export after protests hampered shipments.
