According to the monitoring of SunSirs, the egg price at the beginning of this week was 9.43 RMB/kg, and the egg price at the end of this week was 9.48 RMB/kg, with a price increase of 0.53%, and 17.76% higher than the same period last year.
Analysis review
With the increase of market demand, the total demand in the second quarter increased by 1% - 3% compared with that in the first quarter, which may boost the egg price. In addition, provinces have actively introduced a number of measures to stimulate consumption and vigorously promote the recovery of catering, tourism and other industries. It is expected that egg consumption will increase in the first half of the year, which will form a positive support for the egg market.
On the supply side: it is expected that the number of laying hens in stock will increase by less than 1% in the month of February to March, and decrease in the month of April to June. Therefore, in the first half of the year, the growth of the number of laying hens on hand will be limited and remain below the normal level of 1.2 billion. It is difficult to effectively alleviate the tight supply of eggs, which still has a role in pushing up egg prices.
