SunSirs: Demand Slumped, and DME Fell Further

This week (2.13-2.17), the domestic DME market was weak as a whole, and the market in Henan fell significantly. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the average market price of DME in Henan was 4,565 RMB/ton on February 13 and 4,515 RMB/ton on February 17, with a decrease of 1.1% in the week and an increase of 19.29% compared with the same period last year.
Analysis review
This week, the overall transaction focus of DME in Henan moved down, the regional demand was lower than expected, and the enterprise inventory increased significantly. In order to stimulate the delivery of goods, the factory quotation was lowered. Although the increase of supply was limited, the weak situation of demand intensified, and some factories had plans to reduce the start of construction.
The raw material methanol market rose slightly, but the overall performance was general and the supply was sufficient. Under the weak demand, the methanol market was weak and difficult to change, and the support for DME was limited.
Market outlook
In general, under the constraints of the demand side, the mentality of the operators was depressed. It is expected that in the short term, the favorable support of the DME market will be limited and the price will be weakly sorted.
