SunSirs: In 2022, the Global Nickel Output reached 3.3 Million Tons, with a Year-on-year Increase of 21%
February 09 2023 10:22:31     Foreign media reported on February 7 that the preliminary estimate of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) showed that the global nickel output in 2022 was 3.3 million tons, an increase of 21% from 2.73 million tons in 2021. Indonesia, the top nickel producer, produced 1.6 million tons of nickel ore, up 54% year on year. The output of the second producer, the Philippines, is 330000 tons, and that of Russia is 220000 tons. USGS added that the average price of nickel spot contracts on the London Metal Exchange in 2022 increased by 35% year on year, because the consumption of nickel in electric vehicle batteries increased and the demand for stainless steel production continued to be strong.
