Tang Renjian, director of the Central Agricultural Office and minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said at the meeting that all localities should come up with a package of plans to demonstrate and promote a batch of high-yield, high-quality and resistant varieties, integrate the use of high-yield and production-increasing technology models, and carry out high-yield creation of grain and oil crops throughout the county. Continue to focus on machine harvest reduction, and strive to significantly increase the yield of major grain and oil crops.

It is understood that this year China will go all out to achieve another bumper harvest of grain, step up efforts to decompose the goals and tasks of grain production, compact the planting area by variety, improve the disaster prevention and mitigation mechanism, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers and new agricultural operators to grow grain, and ensure that the year-round Grain output remained above 1.3 trillion catties.

In terms of ensuring the production of grain and oil crops and increasing the yield per unit area, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will take the following measures:

——Continue to expand the planting of soybean oilseeds, make overall arrangements for the rotation of grain, soybean, cotton, and soybeans, expand the compound planting of soybeans and corn in suitable areas, expand the area and increase production with multiple oils, and expand the planting of soybean oilseeds to more than 10 million mu this year.

—— Make great efforts to strengthen the protection and construction of cultivated land, cooperate with relevant departments to delineate and replenish permanent basic farmland, formulate an implementation plan to gradually build all permanent basic farmland into high-standard farmland, and make overall arrangements for the annual construction, transformation and upgrading of 80 million mu of high-standard farmland , widen channels to increase investment, speed up the filling of shortcomings such as irrigation and drainage, and pragmatically promote the control of cultivated land planting uses.

—— Quickly launch the action to increase the production capacity of 100 billion jin of grain, step up efforts to promote the R&D and application of technical equipment, and adopt more system integration methods to strive for high-yield and high-oil soybeans, short-growing rapeseed, and applicable machinery for hilly and mountainous areas. Make a breakthrough as soon as possible, form a comprehensive solution, and promote the large-scale implementation of agricultural scientific research results.
