SunSirs: China EPS Market Prices Fell Last Week

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average price of EPS ordinary materials at the beginning of the week was 10,500 RMB/ton, and the average price of EPS ordinary materials at the weekend was 10,450 RMB/ton, down 0.48% and up 2.70% compared with the same period of the year.

Toward the end of the year, the terminals are generally parked, and the market is unpopular. In recent years, the continuous expansion of EPS capacity has led to an obvious imbalance between supply and demand. Some businesses are short of the future market, and most of them are cautious. At the end of the year, there is little stock, and the overall turnover is poor. With the further reduction of temperature in the north, the demand for insulation boards represented by North China and Northeast China may drop to freezing point, and some EPS devices are expected to stop in advance.

On the cost side, the supply of styrene may remain at a high level, and the demand for downstream hard glue, especially EPS, continues to weaken, but the tendency to be bullish on funds has not changed. On the supply side, some early shutdown devices resume production, and on the demand side, near the Spring Festival, large-scale downstream parking is expected to continue to weaken this week.

Styrene prices rose first and then fell, and EPS transactions were weak. It is expected that EPS prices will tend to be volatile and weak in China.
