Statistics Canada and Agriculture Canada (AAFC) jointly released their September production report on Wednesday. Based on estimates from a yield model using satellite imagery and agroclimatic data, Canada will produce more wheat, rapeseed, corn, barley, and oats in 2025, but soybean production will be lower than in 2024.
Rapeseed production is expected to increase by 4.1% to 20 million tons in 2025, as a 6.2% yield increase to 41.2 bushels per acre offsets a 2.0% decrease in harvested area to 21.4 million acres.
