On September 21, the sodium bicarbonate commodity index was 151.00 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 35.97% from the cycle's highest point of 235.84 points (2021-11-10), and an increase of 71.07% from the lowest point of 88.27 points on December 22, 2020. As of September 22nd, the mainstream market price of sodium bicarbonate in Henan region was around 2,000-2,400 RMB/ton. According to the product analysis system of SunSirs, the upstream of sodium bicarbonate, soda ash, showed that the price wass temporarily stable. The average market price from the beginning of the week to the weekend was 3,090 RMB/ton, an increase of 16.17% compared to the same period last year.

Market outlook

Analysts from SunSirs believe that the price of sodium bicarbonate recently consolidated and operated, with sufficient supply of sodium bicarbonate. The upstream raw material, soda ash, temporarily stabilized the market, and downstream pharmaceutical, textile, food, and other aspects of sodium bicarbonate mostly purchased on-demand recently. Overall, it is expected that the price of sodium bicarbonate will be mainly consolidated and operate in the later stage, depending on the downstream market demand.
