SunSirs: The Price of 2-EH in Shandong Rose This Week (April 6-10)

According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, the ex factory price of 2-EH in Shandong Province rose this week. This week, the average ex factory price of main 2-EH in Shandong increased from 5,066.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 5,283.33 RMB/ton at the end of the week, up 4.28%, down 31.97% year on year. Overall, 2-EH rose this week, with the April 10 2-EH commodity index at 38.85.

Analysis review   

Product: At present, the operating rate of domestic 2-EH plant is acceptable; Hualu Hengsheng's 80,000 ton/a 2-EH plant starts normally, and this week's offer is firm; the annual capacity of Jiangsu Huachang Chemical 2-EH plant is 80,000 ton/a, and there is no maintenance plan.

This week, the ex factory quotation of main 2-EH manufacturers in Shandong Province rose: the quotation of 2-EH of Jianlan Chemical Co., Ltd. at the end of this week was 5,300 RMB/ton, up 200 RMB/ton compared with that at the beginning of this week; Lihuayi offered 5,250 RMB/ton of 2-EH this weekend, up 250 RMB/ton compared with the beginning of the week; HuaLuHengSheng offered 5,300 RMB/ton of 2-EH this weekend, up 200 RMB/ton compared with the beginning of the week.

Industrial chain: Upstream raw material Market: propylene market rose sharply this week. The quotation increased from 5,451.82 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 5,957.27 RMB/ton at the end of the week, up 9.27%, down 17.70% year on year. The price of raw materials in the upstream market was rising, which has a positive impact on the price of 2-EH due to the impact of supply and demand.

Downstream market: the price of DOP rose this week. The DOP quotation increased from 5,700.00 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week to 5,800.00 RMB/ton at the end of the week, up 1.75%, down 28.98% year on year. Downstream customers were more active in purchasing 2-EH, demand for 2-EH was higher, and DOP price increase had a positive impact on 2-EH market. The aftermarket operators mostly waited and saw the trend of DOP.

Market outlook

In the middle of April, the trend of Shandong 2-EH market may fluctuate slightly. The price of propylene in the upper reaches has increased significantly, with strong cost support, and the enthusiasm for procurement in the lower reaches has also improved. According to the 2-EH analysts of SunSirs, the 2-EH market in Shandong in the middle of April may rise slightly under the influence of supply and demand and raw materials.
