SunSirs: Weak Rise in Cement Prices in East China
October 30 2023 13:40:30SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China has recently undergone a weak consolidation. This week's price was 319.00 RMB/ton, while this week's price was 320.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.31%. The current price has decreased by 21.38% compared to last year.

Recently, the cement market in some parts of East China has been fluctuating and consolidating. From the above chart, it can be seen that the cement market has been mainly consolidating at a low level in the past three months, with a slight increase in prices this week. This week, coal prices have risen, cement costs have risen, and manufacturers in the East China market have tentatively raised prices. However, cement demand has remained low, and the implementation situation is not good. It can only be said that it has played a role in stopping the decline, and the rise of cement in the East China region is weak.

Recently, the price of steam coal has been weak. In terms of origin, there has been an increase in coal hauling vehicles, but the overall supply of long-term coal is mainly guaranteed, and there has been no significant improvement in market procurement. The rise and fall of coal prices at the pit mouth are mixed. In terms of downstream ports, port prices are still experiencing a slight downward trend. Downstream demand has not shown a significant improvement, with low trading volume and some traders pushing prices, but downstream procurement is average and there is a phenomenon of price pressure.

Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again and is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the prediction of SunSirs, the demand side of cement is still weak in the near future, but the cement market has dropped to a low level, coupled with rising costs. Therefore, cement product analysts of SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will be dominated by a slight upward trend.
