SunSirs: Cement Prices Was Weak for Rise in East China
October 26 2023 13:51:41SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China had recently undergone a weak consolidation. Last week's price was 319.00 RMB/ton, while this week's price was 320.00 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.31%. The price decreased by 21.38% compared to last year.

Analysis review

Recently, the cement market in some parts of East China was fluctuating and consolidating. From the above chart, it can be seen that the cement market had been mainly consolidating at a low level in the past three months, with a slight increase in prices this week. This week, coal prices had risen, cement costs had risen, and manufacturers in the East China market had tentatively raised prices. However, cement demand remained low, and the implementation situation was not good. It can only be said that it had played a role in stopping the decline, and the rise of cement in the East China region was weak.

Recently, the price of thermal coal had been weak. In terms of origin, there was an increase in coal hauling vehicles, but the overall supply of long-term coal was mainly guaranteed, and there had been no significant improvement in market procurement. The rise and fall of coal prices at the pit mouth are mixed. In terms of downstream ports, port prices were still experiencing a slight downward trend. Downstream demand had not shown a significant improvement, with low trading volume and some traders pushing prices, but downstream procurement was average and there was a phenomenon of price pressure.

Downstream funding issues were still ongoing, and demand recovery was poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate had weakened again and was still bottoming out recently, with weak support for the cement market.

Market outlook

According to the prediction of SunSirs, the demand side of cement was still weak recently, but the cement market had dropped to a low level, coupled with rising costs. Therefore, cement product analysts of SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly rise slightly.
