SunSirs: Weak Consolidation of Cement Prices in East China
September 14 2023 10:40:28SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China has recently undergone a weak consolidation, with a price of 319.00 RMB/ton this week, a month on month decrease of 1.85%. The current price has decreased by 19.04% compared to last year.

Recently, some areas in East China have seen weak consolidation of cement. From the above chart, it can be seen that the cement market has been mainly declining in the past three months, and prices have been weak and consolidating this week. In mid September, due to heavy rainy weather, construction sites and mixing stations were limited, and market demand did not improve. The shipment volume of enterprises was poor, and the cement market in East China was mainly consolidating at a low level.

Recently, the price of steam coal has been relatively strong. In terms of origin, coal mines maintain normal production, and the market mainly focuses on shipping long-term coal. In terms of downstream ports, although there has been a slight upward trend recently, due to the cooling weather in the later stage, the daily consumption of power plants has decreased. Downstream procurement is still mainly based on demand, with limited demand from non electric enterprises. It is expected that the price of thermal coal will rise in the later stage or tend to consolidate and operate, depending on the downstream market demand.

Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again and is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the prediction of SunSirs, some regions have started to try to push up due to the impact of staggered peak kiln shutdowns in the near future. Therefore, cement product analysts from SunSirs believe that the cement market will mainly experience a slight increase in the short term.
