SunSirs: Cement Prices in East China have slightly Declined
September 07 2023 09:50:18SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China has recently experienced a weak decline. On September 1st, the price was 323.00 RMB/ton, while on September 6th, the price was 319.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.24% and a month on month decrease of 1.85%. The current price has decreased by 19.04% compared to last year.

Recently, cement prices have declined in some parts of East China. The cement market has been mainly declining in the past three months, and prices have continued to bottom out this week. Around September 1st, cement prices in Suqian, Lianyungang, and other places in Jiangsu Province decreased by 10-20 RMB/ton. Currently, the construction progress of downstream construction sites and mixing plants is average due to the significant impact of typhoons and rainfall weather, with weak demand and continued market decline. However, Fujian began to implement a 15 day peak shift shutdown on August 28th, which affected the market to rebound. At present, there are mixed ups and downs in the East China region.

Recently, the price of steam coal has fluctuated and consolidated. In terms of origin, the coal mine has experienced a contraction in coal supply due to safety inspections. In terms of downstream ports, as the weather and temperature drop, daily consumption will decrease. In addition, with stable long-term supply, there may not be much room for the rise of thermal coal. Overall, it is expected that the market will briefly rise and return to consolidation in the later stage, depending on the downstream market demand.

Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again and is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the prediction of SunSirs, the demand peak season in September is expected to be strong, and the cement market has already bottomed out, with some regions experiencing tentative increases. Therefore, cement product analysts from SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly experience a slight upward trend.
